Fulcher Votes to Support Servicemembers and Restore American Deterrence
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher issued the following statement after voting in favor of the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), H.R. 8070:
“Our service members sacrifice so much to defend our nation’s freedoms and deserve all the support and resources we can offer.
“Today, I proudly voted to advance the Fiscal Year 2025 NDAA. This legislation will provide junior enlisted troops with a well-deserved pay increase, save billions of taxpayer dollars by slashing wasteful Washington spending, and prevent the incorporation of far-left social policies in Department of Defense (DoD) schools.
“In a time of increasing global instability, ensuring our military is fully prepared to deter threats from foreign aggressors is paramount, and this bill does just that.”
FY25 NDAA Bill Highlights:
-
Authorizes a 19.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers, improves the cost of living calculation, and expands allowances for housing and food
-
Reduces healthcare wait times by expanding access to medical and mental health providers
-
Supports Israel’s right to self-defense against Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah
-
Bolsters security at the U.S. Southwest border
-
Saves taxpayers $30 billion by cutting inefficient defense programs, obsolete weapons systems, and unnecessary Pentagon bureaucracy
-
Prohibits the incorporation of far-left policies like Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in DoD schools and prevents a military Green New Deal
