CALDWELL, ID — U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher (Idaho-01) joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion in Caldwell, Idaho, with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
“We applaud U.S. Representative Russ Fulcher for working to ensure that the constituents of the 1st District of Idaho continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond,” the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s press release read.
“The passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will generate additional and new opportunities for Idaho’s business community,” said Katelyn Pay, Manager of the Northwest Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “From family-run shops to expanding industrial enterprises, local employers are already seeing the benefits of a stronger, more supportive economic environment. Representative Fulcher’s leadership has been vital to advancing policies that create jobs and drive investment. Thanks to his support, businesses in Idaho are positioned to succeed for years to come.”
“H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, delivers for hard-working Idahoans and Main Street," said Congressman Fulcher. "It made the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) lower tax rates permanent for small businesses, while doubling their deductions on expenses. It also eliminated taxes on tips and overtime pay—a tax measure I was inspired to spearhead in Congress after speaking with a constituent at a town hall meeting in Sandpoint. This once in a generation legislation is pro-worker, pro-growth, pro-investment, and will help usher in a new era of American prosperity.”
"We're always looking for opportunities to put business owners and leaders in the same room with their elected representatives,” said Travis Palmer, President and CEO of the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce. “The bill (OBBBA) passed, and our local businesses want to know how they'll be impacted and how they can potentially benefit from it. We appreciate the opportunity to hear from Representative Fulcher, ask important questions, and give feedback from the perspective of local business owners. Caldwell is a rapidly growing city, and we need our local businesses to grow and thrive just as much as our population has."
