WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Fulcher released the following statement in regard to tomorrow’s vote on reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and related amendments.
“I joined a number of my colleagues to send a letter to House leadership requesting consideration of the Wyden-Daines Amendment to the FISA reauthorization bill, which we will be voting on tomorrow. Currently, intelligence agencies do not need a warrant to collect internet search data on Americans, and are not required to inform citizens of this collection. This amendment would, among many other important provisions, prohibit the government from accessing American’s internet search and browser history without a probable cause warrant.”
