Fulcher’s Bill Signed Into Law as part of EXPLORE Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher’s legislation, H.R. 8258, the Federal Interior Land Media (FILM) Act, was signed into law as part of the House Natural Resources Committee’s legislation, the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act.
Specifically, the EXPLORE Act is a comprehensive package that will revolutionize access to America’s public lands, enhance visitor experience, and provide an estimated five million jobs annually.
Congressman Fulcher’s bill, H.R. 8258, addresses outdated provisions governing commercial filming and similar activities in National Park System units and other federal lands.
“I am very pleased to see my bill, the FILM Act, included as part of the final version of the House’s EXPLORE Act,” said Congressman Fulcher. “Enactment of this legislation marks a significant bipartisan step forward in how we efficiently modernize and manage our nation’s public lands. By easing burdensome permitting and fee requirements for content creators, we encourage the creative industry to capture our country’s natural and cultural treasures and bring much-deserved attention to the expansive resources states such as Idaho have to offer. The EXPLORE Act package is a win for the outdoor recreation economy and every American who enjoys getting out in our nation’s wide-open spaces!”
In addition to the incorporation of the FILM Act, similar language to Congressman Fulcher’s bill, H.R. 1450, the Treating Tribes As Good Neighbor Authority Act, was included in the EXPLORE Act and now law.
